Finally captured in the year 2008, Jason Voorhees (<a href=">Kane Hodder) is held inside a government research facility whose scientists try to answer the question that keeps eluding them - why one of the most infamous mass murderers in history cannot die. Once Rowan (<a href=">Lexa Doig), leader of the research project, prepares the specimen for cryogenic suspension, a greedy scientist goes over her head and comes to remove Jason, only to have the mad slasher break free and slaughter him and his entire entourage. Tricking Jason into following her, Rowan eludes him into entering the cryogenic freezer and begins the process, but a breach in the system causes her to freeze with him. The government tries to deny any evidence of the project, and nearly four centuries pass, during which the Earth gradually becomes less and less habitable and humans have relocated to a planet in another star system that they've named Earth II. A team of young students descends onto the ruined Earth, where they find the frozen bodies of Jason and Rowan in the forgotten research facility and take back on board their ship with them. Rowan is thawed and revived, but the team mistakes Jason to be dead, having no idea of his abilities or motives. Before long, Jason awakens to the sound of young people having premarital sex once again, and the carnage erupts once again as the ship proceeds to Earth II. The remaining survivors fight for their lives as the centuries-old mad slasher proves that he is just as evil and just as indestructible during their time as he was centuries before.
In the future, Earth is no longer inhabitable. A school field trip leads the class and a few marine grunts to the remains of Camp Crystal Lake where they discover two croygenically frozen bodies, one of a beautiful young woman, and the other, a vaguely familiar looking man in a hockey mask and carrying a machete in his right hand. The group decides to bring the bodies back for testing and re-animation. But what was the first mistake, bringing the two bodies back with them or thawing them out so that the unstoppable Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) can return again to wreak havok and murder everyone in his sight? But what if Jason was upgraded, making him more dangerous than he ever was before?
This movie was so bad I was compelled to go online and write about it.

reasons why this is one of the worst movies ever:

1. EVERYBODY in this movie is stupid. eg. doctor just before Jason kills him: "See guys? Jason just wanted his machete back!" 2. The dialog is really, really bad. eg. "Why don't you stick your head out the door and see if Jason's gone?" 3. The weapons in this movie are very disappointing. You'd think in the far future they'd have better weapons than guns that shoot bullets. 4. The story sucks. I think they were trying to marry Friday the thirteenth with the Aliens franchise. 5. There's a lot of stuff in the movie that doesn't make sense, like: i) why didn't the guy who got impaled through the chest twice die? I know they had nanotechnology to revive him, but it took them so long to get to him, he would've been dead. ii) how did Jason's mask stay on this face throughout the movie after the doctor cut it off? iii) why did they save the really good weapons til the end? iv) why did they leave Jason just sitting in the nanotech machine, knowing it might come alive and revive him? v) why wasn't Jason blown into outer space with the rest of the ship that got blown off? 6. The ending is just so incredibly dumb when the guy flies in with the jet pack and scoops Jason away 7. Why are there 3 survivors at the end? Most movies in this series, there's only 1 survivor. 8. Speaking of the series, this movie doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the movies at all.
In 2010 - 9 years in the future! - Jason is captured by the U.S. government but can't be killed, so government scientist Rowan LaFontaine decides to place the killer is suspended animation. Of course, a bunch of soldiers screws the whole thing up and Jason kills everyone in his path before he stabs Rowan and freezing both of them.

445 years later, Earth is ruined so everyone moves to Earth 2. So why not send some students back to the old Earth on a field trip? Why not send their professor and an android, too? While exploring the Crystal Lake facility where Jason was experimented on? And why not put the still frozen bodies of Jason and Rowan on the Grendel, their ship? Nothing bad can happen, right?

Well, it turns out that Jason is dead and his body could be worth plenty. The Professor calls his money man, Dieter Perez (Robert A. Silverman, who has been in five Cronenberg* movies and the two episodes of Friday the 13th: The Series that he directed, too) and they discuss how Jason's body could be worth something to collectors. Luckily - or maybe not - they bring Rowan back to life.

Of course, kids keep having sex around Jason, which brings the maniac back to life. He wipes out nearly everyone on the ship, including all of the soldiers that are on board. He even takes out an entire space station!

The teens upgrade their android, KM-14, who wipes out Jason. Or so everyone thinks - a medical station brings him back as Uber Jason, filled with cybernetics so powerful that he can punch the android's head off. Not even a holographic simulation or a shuttle crash can slow him down! It takes flying him through re-entry and burning him up to take him out.

That said - two teens see his mask land on Earth 2, so he could always come back. He can come back, right?

This was written by Todd Farmer (Drive Angry, the remake of My Bloody Valentine) and directed by James Isaac (House 3). I have a real weakness for this film as it really goes places none of the others did. It's the Abbott and Costello school of running out of ideas and just doing something completely off the wall.

*Cronenberg shows up in a cameo as Dr. Wimmer, too!
There's a hint of nostalgia toward the end, with Jason encountering two nubile female campers in a virtual reality Camp Crystal Lake – but it merely serves as a reminder that the franchise should have quit while it was ahead.
After Freddy vs Jason. In that film Jason is ressurected by supernatural serial killer Freddy Kruger after being sent to hell at the end of Jason Goes to Hell and eventually defeats him and emerges triumphant from Crystal Lake. He is then captured by unknown parties and is being held by the military at the beginning of this film. Unknown, it may have been the military themselves although other suggestions have included Tommy Jarvis (from the fourth, fifth and sixth films) or Jason's niece and her boyfriend from Jason Goes to Hell. He is holding only the back of her head and dunking her face in, and presumably thought the nitrogen was just water in which he could drown her. Brodski used the jet pack on his spacesuit to escape and fly around to the side. Very possibly, but odds are this question will never be answered properly, given that we didn't see Jason's final state in this movie (i.e. whether he was disintegrated completely on re-entering Earth II's atmosphere, leaving only his mask, or whether he survived and the mask was simply separated from his head), and the remake means that there will likely be no future film to fill in the gaps. The script has someone pulling Jason's mask out of the water at the end (though doesn't specify if it is Jason), and comic books show that Jason did survive the end of this movie; whether or not you count them as being a proper part of the Friday the 13th storyline boils largely down to personal taste. In terms of the movies however, this is the last one in the original storyline so yes, he is dead. So far, there are 12 movies in the Friday the 13th series. Beginning with Friday the 13th (1980) (1980), following are Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) (1981), Friday the 13th Part III (1982) (1982), Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) (1984), Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985) (1985), Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) (1986), Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988) (1988), Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) (1989), Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) (1993), Jason X (2001) (2001), Freddy vs. Jason (2003) (2003), and Friday the 13th (2009) (2009). A fan film, The Cold Heart of Crystal Lake (2003), was also released in 2003. A documentary about Jason, His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th (2009), was released February 10th 2009.
